The FreshGrass Institute (FGI), a new initiative by the FreshGrass Foundation, is dedicated to advancing the rich traditions and innovative future of roots and Americana music.

Based in North Adams, Massachusetts in partnership with the Porches Inn at MASS MoCA, the campus includes Studio 9, our state-of-the-art recording and performance space, and ample housing and creative spaces for artists and event attendees.

With a mission to nurture emerging talent and support established artists, we foster creative growth and community engagement through hands-on experiences and thoughtful mentorship. Located at the intersection of tradition and innovation, we act as a catalyst for musical discovery and cultural enrichment. Through its programs, FGI amplifies diverse voices, preserving the heritage of roots music while propelling it into new, exciting directions.

FreshGrass Festivals

FreshGrass produces annual festivals in North Adams, MA and Bentonville, AR, which are industry-leading events with dozens of bands and thousands of attendees. Our festivals take place at two of the best contemporary art museums in the country: MASS MoCA for FreshGrass | North Adams and at the Momentary for FreshGrass | Bentonville.
