Lau Noah

December 8-12, 2025

Lau Noah spent a week in residence, recording new music with her team of collaborators. In an effort to confront the growing presence of AI in the music industry, Lau chose to teach her collaborators all the music by ear. She sang each part to the instrumentalist, and then worked through the composition during the recording process. Honoring oral traditions, and creating a form of resistance to artificial intelligence, by keeping the human element.

From the heart of Catalonia to the vibrant streets of New York City, Lau Noah captivates as a self-taught composer and virtuoso guitarist. Praised by distinguished musicians, from Phoebe Bridgers to Jackson Browne for her poetic compositions and the masterful guitar-voice counterpoint on her music, Noah has become one of the most unique independent artists in her generation.

Noah played a Tiny Desk Concert in February 2019, making her the first Catalan to perform in the prestigious series. She has given lectures in Ivy league universities and conservatories around the world and scored multiple award winning films. Lau has been featured on the BBC, the Recording Academy and Billboard Magazine and has performed with her project in legendary venues like the Royal Albert Hall and NYC’s Summer Stage among many others. In the past two years she has supported Chris Thile, Ben Folds & Jacob Collier on tour.

In 2024, Lau released her first LP “A Dos” featuring some of the most influential musicians of our time: Jorge Drexler, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Jacob Collier, Gaby Moreno and Cécile Mclorin Salvant among others. In the same year, she was a finalist in the American Songwriter Competition and won the award for Best New Artist in the acclaimed Cartagena Music Festival in Spain.
